Having had a pair of Lake MX 160 wide fit size 46 that were like slippers; I then purchased and am using a pair of MX 219 wide fit size 45.5. Sadly a different experience; very well built no question, high quality but the shape and fit are different and I experience pain in one foot after longer rides (c3 hours +). This is despite relacing the boa laces removing the front lacing (see image)
Conclusion
I would never purchase cycling shoes with only one Boa; this is an unjustifiable economy by the manufacturer big mistake................ The lack of adjustment over the length of the foot is simply not good enough. The MX 160 shoes had 3 velcro straps offering excellent local adjustment, it is a BIG regression to then go to a single boa.
I need to find a different (most likely still Lake shoe that is a better fit for my wide feet........................
