Description

The LXSDL looks back to those fun days of mountain biking yesteryear. Built on our Comfort Plus last, the Lake LXSDL has been designed as a cycling sandal for adventure seekers, bike-packers, casual riders and commuters, where comfort is the main priority. It’s a cycling sandal where your wider feet have the freedom to spread out.

With an SPD compatible real rubber sole, a hardwearing microfiber and webbing upper, and reinforced heel for stability, the LXSDL is a reincarnation of a Lake classic cycling sandal, with a cool vibe for those days of baggy shorts, tees and adventure time.

Last

MX Comfort Plus Last – Featuring our Comfort Plus Last with a wider, open toe box area protected by a rubber bumper. The unique microfiber and webbing construction gives you a generous forefoot platform that accommodates a multitude of foot shapes. The Comfort Plus Last does exactly as you’d expect, providing you with a perfect balance between cycling stability and all-day riding comfort on those sunny summer days, along with the ability to hike-a-bike in comfort.

The LXSDL also comes with two independent insoles. It has a flat Eva insole on the bottom and a shaped insole on top, which gives more/less volume adaptation in the shoe, dependent on your ideal volume fitting.

Outsole

The LXSDL Sandal has a comfortable SPD compatible Real Rubber and EVA Enduro Sole, with a semi-rigid Nylon midsole. It features Lake’s Legendary Fiberglass Injected Nylon sole formula, with an all-new design that has incredible grip on all surfaces, alongside superb durability for all day cycling.

There’s often a balance required between biking and hike-a-bike when taking to the trails, and the LXSDL is designed to give you that necessary stability on all types of mixed terrain, and the confidence of our legendary comfort when cycling for leisure downtown. An optional cleat cap cover is sold separately.

Lining

The microfiber upper sections and webbing design has been well thought out to ensure that the foot remains stable, creating that all-important power, while allowing you to feel the freedom and cool vibe that cycling sandals give to your feet.

Thanks to the firm and secure heel design, it’s also an easy task to clip in and out of SPDs on those necessary hike-a-bike sections. The front forefoot area of the LXSDL also has a reinforced toe bumper, protecting your all-important feet from rocks and knocks, while you relax and enjoy the ride! Optional Softshell TPE foam wind blocker bootie sold separately.

Closure

The Lake LXSDL utilizes a Hook and Eye strapping closure system, with 2 webbing straps being drawn across the foot. Alongside a reinforced heel, this keeps the foot secure and stable, all day long.

Most Asked Questions

How does the LXSDL perform in terms of ventilation?

The LXSDL boasts an open-toe, open-heel design, providing exceptional airflow to keep your feet cool during hot rides. This design is particularly beneficial for riders in warmer climates or those who prefer minimal footwear.

Can the LXSDL be used in cooler conditions?

Yes, Lake offers an optional LXSDL Bootie, a removable wind-blocking liner designed to be worn with the sandal. This bootie features a softshell face fabric and a TPE foam wind-blocking liner, secured by a dual-adjustable hook-and-loop ankle closure. It's perfect for extending the usability of the LXSDL into cooler weather, providing added warmth and protection.

Why does the LXSDL come with two different insoles?

The LXSDL includes two insoles to help you dial in the fit. The standard insole lets you take full advantage of the sandal’s internal volume—ideal if you have high arches or need more space. If you have lower-volume feet, you can stack the second insole underneath to raise your foot and reduce the need to overtighten the hook-and-loop straps.

How do your mountain bike shoes fit?

They provide a close, supportive fit with added protection for off-road use. We offer multiple width and last options to match your foot shape.

Are the BOA® dials and other parts replaceable?

Yes. BOA® dials are replaceable, and many shoes include removable toe spikes or replaceable tread sections for longevity.

What pedal systems are MTB shoes compatible with?

All of our MTB shoes use the 2-bolt cleat pattern, making them compatible with SPD and other off-road 2-bolt pedal systems.

Are they grippy off the bike?

Yes. Aggressive tread and durable rubber outsoles give you reliable traction when walking or carrying your bike on rugged terrain.

Are these shoes suitable for long trail rides?

Absolutely. They’re built for all-day support, durability, and protection on rough and technical trails.

Do they protect well against rocks and debris?

Yes. Reinforced toe boxes and abrasion-resistant materials help guard your feet in tough riding environments.

Are these shoes good for bikepacking?

Yes. The blend of pedaling efficiency and walkability makes them ideal for multi-day adventures and bikepacking trips.
